The Department of Politics, History and International Relations (PHIR) seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Modern History.

You should have a PhD in History or a related discipline.

You must have experience of teaching/assessment at undergraduate level, demonstrate commitment to postgraduate degree provision in History, and possess a proven ability to contribute to the Department's research profile.

Whilst we encourage candidates from a wide range of areas that might fit into our departmental profile to apply, we particularly welcome applications from historians who are keen on teaching innovation, and who have expertise in the following areas: (i) the United States; (ii) Russia and/or the Soviet Union, (iii) new military and/or diplomatic history.
